Is the Allurion gastric balloon accompanied by medication?
Yes, you'll be given medicine to reduce gastric acid production and an antiemetic capsule prior to the procedure.
You'll need to take this capsule two hours prior to the procedure. It will suppress queasiness in the first few hours to days after the balloon is put in. Generally speaking, this queasiness will subside of its own accord after a few hours or days.
