Frequently asked questions
Medication is just one aspect of the treatment programme. The crux of it is making the changes to your lifestyle that you need to make in order to reach and maintain a healthier weight. Our guidance will teach you to manage new lifestyle patterns. This reduces the chances of falling back into old habits quite a lot. Taking the medication for several years is possible.
We endeavour to do this with you. We have the tools in place to offer some if you're really struggling.
No, not yet unfortunately. It's down to health insurers to decide.
Medication can be a good option for people with a gastric band who are still feeling hungry a lot and want to lose some more weight.
No, our treatments are not reimbursed by health insurers. However, you can pay for treatments at NOK Clinics in instalments. Financing is available from €2,500. We work with Cosmetic Finance for this.

If six months' coaching turns out not to be enough, then will a longer process be an option? An extended process is an option. We will consider whether you want and need this during your treatment.
Treatment session frequency depends on the treatment you're getting. As a minimum, you'll see us once a month – more often at the start of the process and less often towards the end.
No, we don't do that. We would advise you to explore this thoroughly for yourself and discuss it with your GP.
A filled gastric balloon cannot be vomited. Once the balloon has emptied after 16 weeks, there will be a small pellet left over. This will leave the body along with your stools, but in 1 in 100 people it will come out via the mouth. This is not dangerous.
No, we always review progress after four months. If everything goes well and you're happy, then we'll keep going to the six-month point. If things aren't going as expected at the time of the four-month review, then you'll have the option of switching to one of the other treatment options (provided this is suitable for you from a medical perspective).
In principle, all the treatment options are possible for people with high blood pressure. We'll discuss the treatment that will suit you best together.
Obviously it depends on several factors, such as weight, muscle mass and age. There's no gold standard for this. It's important to look at what works for you and how you can get the best results.
Our aim is for you to bring about a change in lifestyle with the aid of the diet and exercise specialists on our team.
On average, clients lose 8-12% of their body weight* in a year when losing weight with medication in the form of an injector pen. We know from experience that the real percentages are lower than the ones specified in the official patient information leaflet. The exact amount of weight you'll lose will depend on the extent to which you manage to adapt your lifestyle.

Not everyone will experience these side effects to the same extent and they are usually transient in nature.
